Before starting his professional work in Mumbai, he extensively trained in the UK (8 years), USA, Australia, and Switzerland in Knee and Hip replacement surgery and Arthroscopic Surgery of the Knee. He has successfully performed various Orthopaedic and trauma operations in India and abroad. However, for the last 15 years, he solely performs Knee replacement operations and revision Knee replacement Operations.

Dr. Ashit Shah began his Orthopaedic career at the L T M Medical college (Sion Hospital) Mumbai which is India’s one of the busiest Trauma and Orthopaedic centre. This was under the guidance of Padmashri Prof. Dr. N S Laud and Dr. A G Ambardekar. Dr. Ashit Shah passed his MS (Orthopaedics) & also qualified as D N B an all India exam held by the National Board of exams, New Delhi.

He then worked as a Lecturer ( Junior Consultant) at K E M Hospital & Seth G S Medical College, Mumbai for 2 years. Here he performed Complex Trauma & Fracture operations, Spine Surgery and Joint Replacement operations. This being a teaching position was regularly teaching junior Colleagues in an Orthopaedic department and medical students.

He then went to the UK for further training in Orthopaedics and spent 8 years ( 1997 to 2004) in learning newer, modern techniques in Trauma and Knee replacement, including the use of Computer Assisted Navigation and “High Flexion” Knee Replacement. Dr. Ashit Shah was one of the very few students at the University of Liverpool, UK to have passed the M CH Orth exam at first attempt ( Yr. 2002) He then Completed prestigious F R C S ( Trauma & Orth) exams from the Royal College of Surgeon’s of England, London & hence was awarded the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of the England. This enabled him to take up the “Fellowship in Knee Surgery “ at the Guy’s & St. Thomas’s Hospital at London. This was under the supervision of Dr. P Earnshaw and Dr A J Davies. Here he had advanced training in Knee Surgery using the latest equipment and Implants. This centre is the Pioneer in the Knee Replacement Operations not only in the UK but also in the Western Europe.
